Steve Mackin joined Mercy in March 2017 as senior executive for business line development with an initial focus on cancer services in Mercy’s east region. He was named president of Mercy Hospital St. Louis in August 2017. In addition to serving as hospital president, in 2019, Steve was named Senior Vice President of Mercy overseeing Retail Operations (GoHealth, Metro Imaging, and Retail Pharmacy), Supply Chain and Managed Care Contracting.

Prior to joining Mercy, Mackin spent 19 years with Cancer Treatment Centers of America, a national network of five hospitals that serves adult cancer patients. During his tenure, he served as a hospital president and system chief operating officer and interim president.

Steve is an advisor for Cancer Expert Now, a member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO) and CEOs Against Cancer, and he serves on the boards of Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Mercy Health Foundation and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.

Mackin holds a bachelor’s degree from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
